Two reasons they're amazing.

1. He's the only person on Barrayar with a well-developed survival instinct and the brains to stay out of the spotlight. That has to count for something
2. He cares about saving kittens! And means well! Just. Oh Ivan.

Five things that I'd like to see happen to them.
1. Something that forces him out of his laziness.
2. Actually I am totally looking forward to the upcoming book about spy antics with Byerly that looks to end with him getting married. Does that count?
3. Getting a little brother. Or sister. Or both.
4. Being assigned to keep Vorparadijs out of Miles' way for a couple weeks.
5. More creative fails in his love life, that manages to surpass the time he had a threesome after being given a drug that causes impotence or the time he asked half the Koudelka girls to marry him in a panic. Because that would be awesome.

I think Ivan brings out my slightly sadistic side.
