OpenID and Livejournal

Hi,

I have been using OpenID in order to comment on LJ communities as I don't want to have an LJ account for obvious reasons.

I used to be able to log in just fine and post comments and create posts etc. But I recently got a new computer and went to log in and comment and it told me I needed to validate my email address. So I clicked through to a link and then clicked the link that was in the email that LiveJournal sent to my email address.

When I click this link in the validation email, it takes me to a page titled:

"Please, verify that you are human"
When you submit the form an invisible reCAPTCHA check will be performed.
You must follow the Privacy Policy and Google Terms of use.

Then there's a continue button to click on. I click the page and it looks like it's doing something, but it takes me back to the same page again and I remain unverified and now unable to comment or post on any communities.

Any ideas as to how I can get LJ to actually verify the email address for my OpenID account? Thanks!

The Friday post of glee is where you get to tell us about your climbing-related happiness this week.

It can be a new achievement or adventure, or just that you climbed and had fun; it can be that your favourite climbing wall is expanding or that you bought new rock shoes or that you found a cool ice-climbing vid on YouTube. No glee is too small -- or too big. Members are encouraged to cheer each other on and share the squee.

N.B. Please feel free to post your glee on any day of the week; the Friday glee is just to get the ball rolling.

To enhance this week's glee: Matty Hong in Spain.

Text size in comment field

I've noticed that while I have text size scaled up (zoomed in) for easy reading and typing, the "comment" field still gives me very small text. The "subject" field is also in small text. The main text entry field is larger, though, confusingly.

Is there any way to change this?

Thanks!

We recently had a visit from a heron. It was strolling around our end of the lake.

Not too significant a mention, but hey, it's still a mention.

Megumi Ogata (seiyuu for CCS's Yukito/Yue and MKR's Eagle) recently celebrated her 25th voice actress debut anniversary with the release of Animeg. 25th, an album of anime cover songs. It was released Oct 11th.

In case you wondered what CCS's Platinum sounds like sung by Yukito, DL sample here (available for a short time only).

Another interesting fact was that she crowdfunded the album online. Read her AMA from a few months back here on Reddit. There are a couple short CCS questions answered.

It's time for another question thread!

The rules:

- You may ask any dev-related question you have in a comment. (It doesn't even need to be about Dreamwidth, although if it involves a language/library/framework/database Dreamwidth doesn't use, you will probably get answers pointing that out and suggesting a better place to ask.)
- You may also answer any question, using the guidelines given in To Answer, Or Not To Answer and in this comment thread.

I just returned from a trip which included a brief stay at a beach. There were a number of residents there, including tiny clams that would appear and then vanish with each wave in and out. (We tried to take pictures but they were tough). On the other hand, these guys were everywhere:

To enhance this week's glee: BBC Radio's Give Me Space Below My Feet, an experiment blending an interview with Gwen Moffat, new poetry and binaural sound (listen with headphones) to recreate the atmosphere of a climb in Langdale.

(Note: contains a description by Moffat of finding a child's body while doing rescue work as a mountain guide.)

API wishlist?

So my workplace gives us a chance twice a year to work on anything we want for a few days, work-related or otherwise, and I thought I'd use some of my time to actually get the new API into a state where we can make it live. With that in mind! What endpoints would you like to see implemented? We're making this Swagger/OpenAPI-compliant, so everything takes JSON as arguments and return JSON formatted data. Stuff already on the list to do or partially done:

/api/v1/users/{username} - GET, shows info about the user (specific info TBD; subset of profile, probably?)
/api/v1/users/{username}/icons - GET, lists icons
/api/v1/users/{username}/icons/{iconid} - GET, returns icon data
/api/v1/users/{username}/journals - GET, returns list of journals with write access.
-- for now, returns only user's primary journal
/api/v1/journals/{username}/accesslists - GET, list of access lists for journal
/api/v1/journals/{username}/tags - GET, list of tags for journal
/api/v1/journals/{username}/xpostaccounts - GET list of xpost accounts
/api/v1/moods - GET list of moods
/api/v1/commentsettings - GET list of allowed comment settings
/api/v1/journals/{username}/entries - POST new entry, GET list of recent entries
/api/v1/journals/{username}/entries/{id} - POST edit entry, GET specific entry
/api/v1/journals/{username}/files - POST new file
/api/v1/spec - GET, returns a description of the API

(Mark and D, as usual, get the final say - some stuff people want may end up being security/privacy risks in non-obvious ways)

I photographed this monarch Sunday afternoon in the Native Pollinators' Garden next to the Somerville Community Path. We saw several monarchs in that garden yesterday, when it was sunny; this afternoon was overcast after rain.

I posted this last night, then removed it because I was hoping to shrink the image. I'm having trouble with the photo editing software on my various devices (I'm still getting used to Windows again, and Flickr seems to have removed the option of posting smaller versions of images stored there), so here it is behind a cut.

Your humble narrator was once a happy member of [livejournal.com profile] trashy_eats, before departing LJ altogether for greener, less-censored pastures. Having seen a post on the Book of Face that needed to be shared, she went to see if [community profile] trashy_eats existed...only to discover that nothing had been done with the community since it was originally created seven years ago, and that the two other members listed are no longer active to request that the community be transferred.

This, she thought, simply will not do.

I promise I don't always write in the third person. Join me in [community profile] trashy_eats_too, won't you?
