The sad thing, to me, is that there are models already out there, in journalism. You pay to get Miss Manners now instead of in three weeks. Or you can get the news today for free, but you have to pay for archival access. If they just put up their /own/ distribution site, readable page by page like OneManga et al, and charged ten bucks a month for access to the ten weekly manga of your choice available, say, a week after it comes out... people would totally pay for that! And it would be a pain in the butt to pirate, which would keep all but the dedicated pirates from bothering.
