That's true too! Bujold was pretty prolific as a fanfic writer, apparently. XD If you ever want to read Dreamweaver's Dilemma, I don't actually recommend it because it's not all that good, but it has a lot of stories that don't appear anywhere else and a lot of the history of her writing. And one of the stories in there is a (very old and permanently incomplete) Sherlock Holmes fic where there's a blond, extremely self-possessed amnesiac woman named Cordelia Naismith who... really isn't quite Cordelia Vorkosigan, obviously, but you can really see exactly where she came from. Iirc, I was pretty sure that the psychiatrist subplot in Shards of Honor got influenced by her origins there at the time I read it, but honestly it's been a couple years so I'm no longer sure.
