Yeah, Asimov was always /awfully/ heavy-handed about things like that. I mean, it's a nice concept, but it doesn't make a very good /story/ to shoe-horn it in. I find that characteristic of him. Interesting ideas which wind up being a lot more interesting than the actual characters and a totally cardboard universe.
